June Member Spotlight

Roger Yost Baystreet Gallery

Our organization of the month is The Roger Yost Bay Street Gallery. Like many Newport businesses, the Roger Yost Bay Street Gallery has been closed for two months and is now reopen as of June 1 – initially by appointment only.

Gallery VP-Curator Rebecca Maitland will host two to five guests at a time. Like many other businesses, she’ll ask invitees to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and she’ll do the same.

Rebecca says: “We’re proud to show the collectible art that earned the gallery recognition as the ‘Best gallery in Oregon’ earlier this year, and one of the top 25 galleries in the entire county. Roger Yost moved the gallery from Salem to Newport 5 years ago, and each of us became permanent Newport residents in the last year. We feature paintings of the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge by South Beach native Andrew Palmer, as well internationally acclaimed artists from the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Russia, Hungary, Germany, Lithuania, and Peru. We also offer the largest collection of Disney Fine Art in Oregon, including paintings inspired by the Studio’s Pixar films."

Meet her at the Bay Street Pier to experience the mysteries behind their ‘Color Storm’ exhibit, and enjoy a private opportunity to shop for wearable art, scarves, purses, jewelry, art glass and unusual gift ideas. These exclusive showings must be confirmed 24 hours in advance. Call 541-264-8364 or email Baystreetpier@gmail.com to schedule your tour.
