Enjoy the work of local artisans, live music, Oregon craft brews, Pacific Northwest hard ciders and wine, and food trucks. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the parking like?
A: There will be parking available in the Armory lot, Pig ‘N Pancake lot, SW 9th St & Hurbert lot, Canyon Way lot, and anywhere along SW 9th St. Handicap parking will be available near the main entrance in the Armory Parking lot.

Q: Are there Taxi cabs or Uber available?
A: There is no Uber or Lyft service in Newport. There are two main taxi cab companies in Newport: Yaquina Cab and Pacific Coast Cab. 

Q: Is there a Festival guide available?
A: We will provide a printed guide available for this year's festival.

Q: Is this an indoor event?
A: The Newport Cider Festival is located in the Newport National Guard Armory, which has some outdoor areas near the stage with seating, but is mainly indoors.

Q: Can I bring my own Cider glass?
A: You will have the option to purchase a Newport Cider glass for $5 at the entry.  If you prefer, you may bring your own cider glass, but it must be clear in color.

Q: Are children allowed?
A: Children are welcome at the Newport Cider Festival! Enjoy our Kidz Zone with fun activities! Remember, an adult must be with each child in the Kidz Zone, and no alcohol is allowed in the kid’s area.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: No pets are allowed, although service animals are permitted. 

Q: What are the festival hours?
A: Friday October 4: 12pm – 9pm and Saturday October 5: 11am-9pm.

Q: Are there any live music or scheduled events throughout the festival?
A: There are several bands and scheduled demonstrations. See above schedule.

Q: How long should I plan to be at the festival?
A: You may spend as much time as it takes you to go through the festival. On average, it can take one to two hours to fully experience the vendors, live entertainment and booths.

Q: Will there be a line?
A:  There may be a little line during peak hours when tickets are being redeemed.

Q: Are there ATMs?
A: Yes, there will be ATMs available

Q: Are debit cards acceptedA: Yes, most vendors accept debit cards, however during peak hours the Wi-Fi can become slow or delayed. We recommend having cash on hand.

Q: Are food and beverages free once you’ve entered the Festival?
A: Food and alcohol vendors charge a small tasting price, starting at $1, and full meals and glasses of cider/beer/wine are offered at menu price.

 Q: Are there restrooms?
A: There are several port-a-potties that are serviced each morning of the festival, located near the seating and music stage area.

Q: Is there smoking inside the festival?
A: We ask that attendees leave the festival and go out to the parking lot for smoking. You may re-enter at any door with your wristband, which you will receive when you first enter the festival.

Q: What is the weather like?
A: It is difficult to predict the weather on the Oregon Coast. Some years, we have warm sunny days, and others we have stormy rains, and winds. We encourage wearing layers! There will be covered areas and exposed outdoor areas at the event. 

Q: What do most people wear?
A: It is always smart to layer up on the Oregon Coast.

Q: What vendors will be at the Festival?
A: Visit the vendor section on our website.

Q: Where do vendors check in?
A: Vendors may check in at Door 2.

Q: Where is vendor parking?
A: Vendors may park anywhere they can find parking: The Armory lot, Pig ‘N Pancake lot, SW 9th St & Hurbert lot, Canyon Way lot and anywhere along SW 9th St. 

Q: Where do volunteers check in?
A: Volunteers may check in at Door 2.

Q: If I am volunteering on Saturday, can I come to the festival on Friday?
A: Yes, please bring your ID and email confirmation with you. You will be given your two-day pass when you check in. Please keep your wristband on throughout the whole weekend.

A: Days Inn, Shilo Inn, Econo Lodge, Hallmark, Comfort Inn, and the Elizabeth Street Inn are all within walking distance of the Newport Armory.
